Key Mode and Keyless Mode

Key Mode

When a cart is in Key Mode it will operate as a normal cart using a key.

Notes about carts in Key Mode

  • The lock/unlock status can still be viewed on the dashboard, however they cannot be unlocked/locked via the dashboard
  • Drive History will still be recorded, however shorter rides will be discarded automatically to account for staff moving carts
  • You can still track the cart
  • QR codes are disabled

If a cart has a booking, you must ensure the cart is in Keyless Mode for the guest to be able to unlock the cart

Keyless Mode

When a cart is in Keyless Mode it can no longer be used with a key which serves as a safeguard for those guests or members who like to take keys home with them.

Notes about carts in Keyless Mode

  • A key will not work - no matter who you are
  • Unlocking must be done via the Dashboard, Scan to Ride or a Reservation Email
  • A Master Code can be used to unlock any cart
  • Locking can be done via Dashboard, Scan to Ride or Auto Lock
  • Drive History will still be recorded, however shorter rides will be discarded automatically to account for staff moving carts
  • Carts will be tracked

Lock and Unlock whilst in Keyless Mode relies on cellular or WiFi communication. In the event the IOTee device stops working, the cart will fall back to Key Mode for your convenience.
